As the power district generating power for Singapore and supporting the growth of the country in the past, we want to re-energise the district to allow it to support the growth of the next generation of Singapore in a different way.

The goal of the proposal is to turn the district into a new destination and bring in footfall in order to make the place viable and sustainable in the long term by becoming the support for local community, local start-up and local economics by injecting new programmes or new interventions.These programmes intend to bring the community in to live, play and work.

The intent of the proposal is to re-inhabit the site and the beautiful gem hidden from the public with various new programmes and activities the power station. The proposal intends to make use of the existing building with minimum alteration to simply refresh the building and function while keeping it as originally as possible to allow the visitor to re-live the historic building.

The quality and feature of the existing spaces such as high volume spaces, long span structure, platform space, small area space et cetera are identified and zoned out to use as the criteria to select and design programmes and activities to suit the space.

The proposal aims to achieve environmental, social and economic sustainability.

The district is re-energised.
